Bio
Caitlin is an Actor Musician graduate from Rose Bruford College and is a talented Actor, Vocalist, Songwriter, Voice Over Artist and Drummer.
Born in the Rhondda with strong Gibraltarian Roots, Caitlin Lavagna has developed a huge passion for lyrics, percussion, strong vocals and harmonies. With a strong, rich vocal and a knack for instant pop hooks, Caitlin blends honest songwriting with an exciting rhythmic core.
Caitlin cites her influences from a wide range of artists beginning with bands like Fleetwood Mac, Haim, Stereophonics and Breed 77 up to giants such as Sting, Bob Marley, Florence and the Machine, Pink, Adele and Raye. She holds great pride in being inspired by her musician friends too from Angel Hotel and Taff Rapids to MOA, HCK9 and The Kid and I not forgetting Cedar and Adrian Pisarello from Gibraltar. She is massively influenced by strong female vocals and rhythm.
This year, Caitlin Lavagna has gone from strength to strength both musically and in her acting career. In January she came third in the Radio Wigwam Awards for Best Female Artist then went on to secure first place for Best Solo Artist at the Newport City Radio awards. After the hugely successful release of her single ‘Gold’ which made her a BBC Radio Wales Welsh A-Lister for the first time, Caitlin was invited into the BBC Studios in Cardiff to perform two of her original songs as well as being interviewed live on air. After success stints in ‘Turning the Wheel - a new musical’’ and the UK Tour of ‘Operation Julie’, Caitin then appeared on the BBC Radio Wales’ Welsh A-List for a second time with ‘Pretty Alright’, a song about overcoming self doubt and body image issues and understanding your own bad habits and emotional trauma.
She headlined Rhondda Arts Festival (RAFT), headlined this years ‘Gen Z Fest’ and played an acoustic set at Wokingham Festival 2024. After taking on the role of ‘Mrs Gloop’ and ‘Grandma Georgina’ in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory at Aberystwyth Arts Centre this summer she returned to her roots in Gibraltar as part of ‘The Weekender 2024’ line up. Caitlin is finishing off the festival season by performing at Radio Wigwam’s DAB Cardiff Launch Party at The Moon where she hopes to secure more gigs over the festive season. She will be appearing with The Heavy North at The Globe in December supporting the Holy Coves too.
